EPFD Update The ITU group JTG4-9-11 developed ITU-R Rec. BO 1503, which contains algorithms for the calculation of interference levels from NGSO FSS systems into GSO uplinks and downlinks.The algorithms specified by ITU-BR have been implemented and the BR is currently undertaking verification against Rec. 1503. Transfinite Systems have submitted a product called Visualyse EPFD. Visualyse EPFD is a one click package, which, whilst giving access to many intermediate parameters and allowing you to look in some detail at the calculation, also gives the final result (graphically, numerically and in a formatted text report). All with just a single click interface. Once your system data are in the correct format, the algorithm developed by JTG 4-9-11 determines everything else. Eventually, the input data format will be defined as part of the APS4 structure and Visualyse EPFD will read this directly from the SRS CD. For now Visualyse EPFD has its own simple Access database.
